This my final project.. i atempted to re create a japaniese style room, in summary i think it went ok but the textures arnt quite right, and are in need of tweeking, this is mainly due to the fact i wasnt 100% sure ont the materials present in the house i was using as a point to model from.

GRUNGE

 

This is a grunge text effect i have created in C4D then edited in photoshop to add some final tweeks. these are the steps i had to take to make it :)

• Create a new text layer (grunge).
• Add an Extrudenurb to make it 3D.
• Add a floor and make sure the text lays on top of it.
• Duplicate the text layer twice.
• Now create 2 "shatter" layers set the strength of the first to 20% and the second to 10%
• Apply the first shatter layer to the second Grunge layer.
• Apply the 2nd shatter layer to the 3rd text layer.
• Now go to town on the 2nd and 3rd text layer with the knife tool (this makes the shatter pieces smaller).
• Then resize the two layers so they protude from the original text slightly.
• Add lighting effects.
• Then add textures.

This was a complicated shape to make i followed an online tutorial in order to create it.

You start with a sphere object, then increase the segments. using the ring selection tool cut out the centre ring to create to hollow semi circles. Then create a cylinder rotate it 90% and use the boole object tool to cut the centre circle into the shape. 

then finally create 2 smaller cylinders rotate them 90% again resize one so it is smaller than the other an you should end up with this.......

this was made using the text tool applying extrude NURBES to the text then playing around with positioning and lighiting (note to self use all the different screen views lif top, front ect helps alot!)

this was an exercise to develop understanding of creating complex objects from a simple square.

this is the rendered version it needs painting and a few finishing touches but that can be saved for a later task
